LifePo4 24v UPS replacement testing, voltage range,

Opportunity: 
  • Lifepo4 lasts about 2000 cycles compared to 300-500 for lead acid.
  • 12v lifepo4 batteries are cheap at about php880.
  • 32650 lifepo4 is php125 at 5500mAh.
  • 12v 30a BMS is about php120.
  • 12v UPS battery box is php1099. cheaper to buy php880 12v lifepo4 all in, than to assemble.

Challenge/gap: 24 volt lifepo4 ups drop in replacement batteries don't exist in the market at the time of writing due to the following:
  • 6s-13s 25 BMS is php383.18
  • 8 x 125 = 1383.18


Looks like it will almost fit in one box.







The test.

Upon opening this APC 1100 UPS and removing the original batteries (2 pieces of 12v batteries, but now only measuring 6-7v each meaning they are failed), external ports for the battery were discovered. 

Positive port is in front and negative at the back (the battery connector). Probably for testing and battery maintenance.
