earnest and final seals (two kinds of seals of God)

According to KJV, & EGW confirms that there is a distinction between being sealed by the Holy Spirit as an "earnest" or pledge of inheritance upon believing, and the final "seal of the living God" placed upon the foreheads of the faithful just before the close of probation, which renders their character pure and spotless for eternity:
