Problems of Last Generation Theology Critics

1. redefining sin as including "nature" instead of only choice.
despite EGW, " Our only definition of sin is that given in the word of God; it is “the transgression of the law;” (1 John 3:4) it is the outworking of a principle at war with the great law of love which is the foundation of the divine government." The Great Controversy, 492, 493.

2. moving deadline of repentance to 2nd coming instead of before the close of probation.

3. ignoring or reinterpreting close of probation to murky deadline, and definition of probation.

4. parable of foolish virgins - character cannot be fixed after probationary time. no more repentance / forgiveness after probation.

5. strawman-ing perfection as sinless perfection.

6. strawman-ing sinless perfection as absolute sinless perfection.

7. hallucinating that LGT focuses on personal achievement, but lacking quote. misrepresentation.

8. putting only where there is no only. "Christ vindicate God's character" becomes "only Christ vindicates God's character".

9. anti-remnant (who keep all the commandments)

10. anti-144,000 (no lies{not repented of}, pure, faithful, obedient)

11. anti-great multitude (no lies{not repented of}, pure, faithful, obedient)

12. ignoring other people in the bible described as perfect, blameless, righteous

13. not understanding (or ignoring) that perfection can be a point in time. e.g. lucifer was perfect, adam and eve were perfect, sinners can be perfect via repentance & grace (moses, elijah, enoch)

14. hallucinating that "as if God needs people to prove him right" despite EGW saying that many vindicate God's character. https://m.egwwritings.org/search?lang=en&query=%22vindicators%22

15. reading/valuing theologians commentaries/opinions/leaven more than Bible and EGW Writings. therefore thinking more like theologians than purely from the only authoritative literature mentioned in the fundamental beliefs.

16. mirroring Satan's wrath towards the repentant remnant who strive to keep God's commandments. Rev 12:17

17. mirror's misrepresenting/insinuating/lying effort to murky the truth. "Misrepresentation, will grow into open rebellion". 5BC 1106

18. if LGT is wrong, anti-LGT should be happy, as they hate perfection.

19. virtually wanting to replace Jesus' word "perfection" with their own "maturity" in Matthew 5:48. replacing w/o replacing.

20. if matthew 5:48 perfection is actually maturity, how can children be saved since they are not mature?

21. bearing false witness. so many strawmans. ideas attributed by anti-LGT to LGT but actually doesn't exist in LGT literature.

22. possibly does not obey all most recent health instructions and still thinking they understand everything, or thinking that everything they don't understand/know is wrong. despite EGW saying flesh food beclouds the mind.

23. doesn't know, forgot, or ignoring that, "“To the law and to the testimony; if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” But if it is according to this test, do not be so full of prejudice that you cannot acknowledge a point when it is proved to you, simply because it does not agree with your ideas. Do not catch at every objection, however small, and make it as large as possible, and preserve it for future use. No one has said that we shall find perfection in any man's investigationshttps://m.egwwritings.org/en/book/428.2724?#2735

24. thinking that LGT claims or will claim perfection, despite LGT paper/talk not saying so. bible and egw are clear that we cannot claim perfection. but they are also clear that, we should be, and we should strive to be, and that it is possible. with many examples in the bible.

25. destroys definition of baptism. old self dying. new life. surrender.

26. if sin is nature, why will infants go to heaven?

The Lord has often instructed me that many little ones are to be laid away before the time of trouble. We shall see our children again. We shall meet them and know them in the heavenly courts.--2SM 259 (1899). {LDE 255.3} | CosSim:0.6958

Before the death of my eldest boy, my babe was sick unto death. We prayed, and thought that the Lord would spare us our darling; but we closed his eyes in death, and laid him away to rest in Jesus, until the Life-giver shall come to awaken His precious loved ones to a glorious immortality. {FLB 172.3}

27. anti-LGT is based on much misrepresentation.

Misrepresentation, will grow into open rebellion 5BC 1106

28. anti-LGT think that LGT proponents claim holiness

29. confusing merit vs conditions

30. if sin is inherited, then Jesus should have inherited sin from mary.

31. problem explaining the difference between the lost and the saved.

32. justification cannot cleanse us from all sin if sin is in our nature

33. If we confess our SINS, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. all or not all?

34.

Thus it has been in every age and in every land. The world has never been left without witnesses to the mighty power of God to save from sin. And in the closing scenes of this earth's history, when iniquity will have reached a height never before attained, it will still be possible to say of the remnant people who have remained true to God, "Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." {RH, July 24, 1913 par. 9}

Thus it has been in every age of the world. The light from Heaven brings condemnation upon all who refuse to walk in it. It is the duty of every Christian to maintain the honor of God by his own unselfish, spotless life, and fearlessly to condemn sin in all its forms. Satan will make strong efforts to sweep from the earth those who uphold purity and piety. But a stronger than he draws nigh to the believing, trusting soul, and measures weapons with the prince of darkness. In every age there have been faithful men to stand as God's witnesses in the earth. The present is a time of darkness and feebleness to the church; but this is because they are not united to Christ. The moral palsy upon professed Christians need not exist. They may have the vigor of perpetual youth, if they will put away their idols, and serve God with an undivided heart. {ST, July 27, 1882 par. 26}
