Solutions to Problems of Ministries Influencing Others to Contradict the Health and Sabbath Messages

Problems:

  • There is a ministry w/c fosters going to coffee shops and drinking coffee;
    • in contrast to the baptismal vow and SOP statement that "drinking coffee is sin"{TE 80}.
    • in contrast with evangelism instruction to put the health message up front.
      • "Keep the work of health reform to the front, is the message I am instructed to bear." {GW 348.2}
      • "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:19
  • There is a ministry w/c has a program w/c is scheduled in restaurants on Friday night (Sabbath).
    • in contrast to the baptismal vow to keep Sabbath and Bible condition to "guard the Sabbath" Deu 5:12 ISR98.
    • "We should jealously guard the edges of the Sabbath." (6T 356)
    • "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:19
  • There is a ministry w/c says they are not promoting coffee but their facebook page visually says otherwise.
    • Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
      2 Tim 3:5
    • He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
      1 John 2:4
    • They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
      Titus 1:16
    • Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
      Matthew 7:21
    • He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
      Psalm 101:7
    • If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
      1 John 1:6
    • Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
      Romans 16:17
    • For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
      Romans 16:18
    • And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
      Luke 6:46
  • There is a ministry w/c wants to promote this ministry to the youth.
    • in contrast to Church Manual saying we should not use the pulpit to advocate disputable points. "Pulpit Not Forum".
  • What is the influence to the youth?
    • Things Which Influence Us and Our Children—Every association we form, however limited, exerts some influence upon us. The extent to which we yield to that influence will be determined by the degree of intimacy, the constancy of the intercourse, and our love and veneration for the one with whom we associate. {AH 459.1}
    • If we place ourselves among associates whose influence has a tendency to make us forgetful of the high claims the Lord has upon us, we invite temptation and become too weak in moral power to resist it. We come to partake of the spirit and cherish the ideas of our associates and to place sacred and eternal things lower than the ideas of our friends. We are, in short, leavened just as the enemy of all righteousness designed we should be. {AH 459.2}
    • The young, if brought under this influence, are more easily affected by it than those who are older. Everything leaves its impress upon their minds—the countenances they look upon, the voices they hear, the places they visit, the company they keep, and the books they read. It is impossible to overestimate the importance for this world and the next of the associations we choose for ourselves and, more especially, for our children. {AH 459.3}
    • rebellion
    • friends more important than God's laws

  • transfer meetings to a vegetarian restaurant as mentioned in SOP
  • transfer Friday night meeting schedules to other nights
  • avoid ministry instructions from other denominations to avoid "strange fire"
  • to bear fruit, follow instructions on how to do ministries from Bible and affirmed by SOP
